The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage site, 185 million years of the Earth’s history are revealed along the ‘Jurassic’ Coast. This is the finest record of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods in the world, stretching 95 miles from Exmouth in Devon to Old Harry Rocks in Dorset. The town of Lyme Regis is famous for its annual Fossil Festival.

Golden Cap

We offer a truly flexible service to suite your needs weather it is being driven to Charmouth where you can walk to Golden Cap (1 mile/1.5 km): the highest point on the coast (191 metres/625 feet) with magnificent views in all directions! Then picked up at West Bay, then on to a local pub for a well-earned drink and a meal. Or a Cliff-top walk where we drop you off and then pick you up later further along the coastline the choice is yours. You could even just stay in the car and be driven around and shown some of the best scenery in the area.

Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre: here you can learn about the rocks and fossils of the ‘Jurassic’ Coast, go fossil hunting on the beach (depending on tide time), take off your shoes and paddle in sea!

Lyme Regis and The Cobb: The Cobb (Harbour) dates from the 13th Century and has inspired artists and writers such as Jane Austen and John Fowles. The French Lieutenant’s Woman was filmed here.
