This is the finest record of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods in the world, stretching 95 miles from Exmouth in Devon to Old Harry Rocks in Dorset. The town of Lyme Regis is famous for its annual Fossil Festival.

Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre: here you can learn about the rocks and fossils of the ‘Jurassic’ Coast, go fossil hunting on the beach (depending on tide time), take off your shoes and paddle in sea!
Lyme Regis and The Cobb: The Cobb (Harbour) dates from the 13th Century and has inspired artists and writers such as Jane Austen and John Fowles. The French Lieutenant’s Woman was filmed here.
